![]() ![]() The game abandons Amnesia's traditional linearity for a semi-open world with immersive-sim inspirations. In a surprising showcase of compassion, the game has you use only one of the two bullets you start off with, affording you a whole single bullet to defend yourself from the jump. ![]() They only slow the creature enough that you can more easily land a shot on it to temporarily scare it off. ![]() The lights won't fully stop the monster, though. Whatever the creature is, it loves the dark, so keeping the generator in the bunker running is your best bet. In The Bunker, you play as a French soldier during World War I who, after becoming trapped in a German bunker, discovers its hallways are being stalked by an unkillable snake-meets-gorilla monster. Now Playing: Amnesia: The Bunker - Monster Encounter Clip But i get why it’s not that way.By clicking 'enter', you agree to GameSpot's It would still make me crawl through the whole castle. If the Brute got used more in a more mysterious way and had some different abilities than the grunt (except faster and more damage). I mean the reason why the Servant grunt was so terrifying had to do with the cinematica, the knowledge of unknown, the fact that you could often just see the shadow of it, and the ambience was purely amazing, the first few hours were the scariest although i encountered nearly no monster. I think the Brute had the Potential to be worse. But at the Water level with Lurky, i knew always where the monster was, what he could do, and how he’s behaving, though-out the whole game i didn’t even need flesh to distract him.Īt first Lurky was truly terrifying and the concept ist pure gold, but just after 5-10minutes, it was more hoping not to get bit and less staying away from him. Well, while playing amnesia i was often scared to shit and it had mostly more to do with the atmosphere than with the monsters. Not trying to diminish any of them.īut I do agree, the pigs in AMFP are not as scary, even though are very unnerving sometimes and also the monsters in Rebirth also weren't as scary, even though the game had a good atmosphere. Also mostly one shot kill is better, since the encounter ends faster.ĭon't get me wrong all monster encounters in TDD are very creepy to me. This is scary, but not that uncanny as opposed to Grunts for me. They are uglier and more mutilated, but they also just run after you. Like very slowly and then a bit faster, don't know why but something in their animation just sets me off.īrutes are a good contender because of the way they sound, but to me their appearance isn't as scary as Grunts. I think it might be the way they approach you. So for me the scariest thing was anticipation of real encounters.īut if I focus on the monsters, I think that Grunts are the scariest for me. The Archives are one of the scariest places in the game for me. Until then we were only teased about the monsters and had these weird experiences that were a bit more unsettling to me. While it is very scary and the music there makes it even more so, it was the first thing in the game that had some logic behind it.
